Tim Osborne

Chief Operating Officer

Timothy R. Osborne is a co-founder of PalmTree, Inc. While wearing many hats through the start-up phase of the company, Osborne's primary responsibilities lie in the high-level strategic management of the company's Lean Implementation services and engagements.

Osborne is also an architect of PalmTree's suite of Lean Software Solutions. He has played an integral part in the development of the company's innovative internet-based software solutions, assisting in the creation, implementation and continuous improvement of products including the company's flagship internet-based Kanban implementation, utilizing "virtual" cards to transmit information throughout the supply chain.

Formerly, Osborne was Vice President of Lean Enterprise for Invensys. He was responsible for Lean Implementation at over 30 sites across the globe for six business units of the $1 Billion diversified industrial manufacturer. Osborne pioneered numerous initiatives across the highly differentiated Invensys holdings, bringing tremendous efficiencies to both manufacturing and administrative functions, including a financial Kaizen to establish a companywide standard for month-end closings.

Osborne was recruited to Invensys from New United Motors Manufacturing Inc. ("NUMMI"), a joint venture between Toyota and General Motors. In 14 years at NUMMI Osborne progressed from engineering positions to ultimately manage the manufacturing operation. This extensive experience has given Osborne hands-on experience in every area of the Toyota Production System, which is the foundation for today's Lean Enterprise practices.

Osborne earned his Bachelor's in Industrial Technology from Northern Colorado State University, and his Master's in Industrial Technology from Colorado State University, graduating with high honors. He is a veteran of the United States Army, and currently resides in San Jose, California.
